What a busy weekend!

This weekend cadets from 473 Hartlepool squadron Air Cadets had a very busy weekend. The cadets and staff represented the squadron at two big events in the Squadron calendar.


On Saturday 1st July cadets took part in the annual Armed Forces Day parade, alongside: The Kings Division Band, 883 Squadron Royal Logistics Corps, The Sea and Army Cadets and Ex service men, at Hartlepool Headland. Cadets gave a display of their drill skills to the public before embarking on the parade. The parade started at the Heugh Gun Battery at the Headland proceeded down Cliff Terrace past the war memorial, past St Hildas Church, down the High street where a salute was taken by the H.M. Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham Mrs Sue Snowdon and other dignitaries such as Hartlepool Mayor and high ranking officers from all 3 armed forces. After the parade, cadets were given the opportunity to look round the Heugh Gun Battery.

On Sunday 2nd July cadets took part in the annual wing competitions day where cadets from squadrons throughout Durham and Northumberland wing take part in competitions such as: Drill, Banner Drill, First Aid, Media, and Aircraft Recognition.
